INTERESTING SITES

Duomo
This is one of the most famous examples of Gothic architecture existing in the world. The symbol of Milano, it has more than 3000 statues and extends over nearly 12000 square meters! On the highest spire is the famous golden “Madonnina” that dominates the city from more than 100 meters in height. Inside, among splendid altars and sarcophaguses, is seen the statue of San Bartolomeo Scorticato.



Galleria Vittorio Emanuele
Milan's meeting point. Attached to piazza Duomo, this place offers delicious cafes, most exclusive restaurants and various bookstores; dating back to the second half of the 19th century, the gallery has two triumphal arches at the entry and the famous octagon in the center. Among designer shops and boutiques you may spend an enjoyable day of shopping.

Chiesa Santa Maria delle Grazie
This is perhaps the most attractive church in Milan. Dating back to the 15th century, since it holds in the refectory the famous “Last Supper” by Leonardo da Vinci, one of the most acclaimed work of art in history. The cloister, the Sagrestia Vecchia and the Tribuna, comes from the genius of the Bramante. It is one of the human heritages protected by Unesco.

Castello Sforzesco
Built by order of duke Francesco Sforza, over the course of the centuries it was transformed by works of artists such as Bramante and Leonardo. The Castello Sforzesco is a majestic building , has magnificent courtyards in Gothic-Renaissance style and in its rooms today are held exhibitions and high level conferences.

Triennial
In parco Sempione, the Palazzo dell’Arte has housed the Triennial since 1933; it is an interesting meeting place of decorative arts , architecture and the new trends emerging in Italy. Most interesting are the spaces dedicated to the permanent collection of Italian design .
